Aplomado Falcon Rehabilitation

Postby Chonguis on Fri Jul 30, 5:29 pm

Hello falconers:

I want to share with you the story that will be my new hunting partner (if all goes well of course).

Last Wednesday I received a call from my friend Miguel Angel falconer me that he brought a trapper who was poised to have been injured in a cage in poor condition. Uttered the magic words: "if you dare to care, it's yours." See home if there was no objection and the next day (Thursday), Miguel brought to my house.

Actually had a deplorable general, wounds on the wax of the bill and feet, cut off wing tips, tail and very enquillada frayed.

I took her to the vet (Ricardo, also a veterinary surgeon is falconer falconers) on Sunday 25 / 7 which I prescribe: "Good diet and innkeepers" told me that the wounds he has on the legs (which I thought was most was serious), but they look like nails are the product of the cage and that once healed will release it alone, I said it put a healing ointment so that a speedy recovery. He suggested that the disturbed as little as possible this week and gain weight faster, and I said not to worry about the feathers when she is "chubby" he will give me a hand for grafting. Finally, I recommended a vitamin supplement to give to food.

The vet confirmed my suspicion that he was a cousin and told me I was young, with no more than a mute. His weight on the first day was around U.S. 355 gr 375 gr and eating twice a day. Would surprise me much as change the color of the wax and the general appearance since he came to today. Initially had the legs pale and opaque pen, wax today has a bright yellow and brighter feathers.

Inside I place a small perch located on a library (at a height of 1.5 m approx.) If this gets too cold or rainy outside. If the weather allows the bag to my balcony where the tie to a bank of wall to sunbathe. In roosting no debate at all unless you zoom in too fast, even lift a paw and "sponge", and eat in the fist time and not let the touch, immediately strip pecks. Although I have not spent time on it I think is pretty tame.

Finally try to keep you updated on "Katana" so I decided to call it (Katy for friends  ) And while I can not enjoy hunting with it until next season at the moment my priority is to fully recover.

And from any comments or suggestions they want me I am very grateful.

I leave some photos.

Regards
Chonguis

Manu you have not seen you in thanks for your words

Thanks Jona know how much I appreciate you and appreciate your support and encouragement permamente

I tell them that today before eating weighed 380 grams, and today I gave him the 3rd dose of the parasite in the stool test that has emerged and Estrongilídeos Capilaria and the vet advised me as it is in low condition is better to get rid of parasites to to avoid shocks.

The Katy had lice but also were treated, wax peak recovers from a little less frightening now the gloves and now the prime in a square near the house and ate but was distracted a bit with the transition from the curious .

Step by step ...

Nano Nahuel127 and thanks for your words.

Well to update some status Katy, now more lively note, stoke the mini-perch is your place because if approached the glove over there, once finished eating, paste a single hop and settles . At the bank wall was discussed only a couple of days but I realized it was because I was fresh medium and was uncomfortable (apparently), to enter it stayed calm and even slept the siesta.

Currently in 390gr and he had healed the wound over his right eye, the left is almost completely "closed" and gradually you will improve the wound in its beak. The ointment has greatly improved the wounds in the legs are no longer so black and has been reducing inflammation which initially had. Unfortunately I have not been able to draw a detailed picture of their feet.

These days I take around 30/40 minutes Placea walking near home in the evening and left shall feed on a nearby square, as expected the first few days almost refused to eat and was frightened by anything. Today, without going further discussed only once because a dog walked over to our running, and the prime in the place without further problems. While virtually no debate, olea not yet on the glove and still gets scared if I move my hand suddenly close. Not to mention if I want to play, is ready to pull the sting lol.

I am feeding twice a day (once in the morning and another at the Nochecita) approximately 35 grams each time.

I leave a couple of photos of recent days.

Chonguis

Dani, I'm going to spend a simple recipe, but it gave me great results in serious injury vastantes, go to a pharmacy and ask that you make preparation: Cream base, and a healing powder contact antiviotico ........ . In half the time, the wounds have healed.

Take advantage of this natural shortcoming of the bird, to get into their world, after you move out of that work can disfrujtar Greetings ....
